Due to the weather forecast for the end of the week and early next week, the BRTC BRTC Foundation Golf Co-chairperson Melissa Davis has rescheduled the BRTC Foundation Golf Tournament, headlined by Proventus, to Friday, October 18 with NO rain date.  Part of the concern was the potential for a hurricane developing which would put the Monday rain date also unavailable.

We are contacting all golf sponsors, vendors, players, and workers via the email and text information we have for them.  Please forgive our delay as we get this information out to you, but we are alerting you all first before we send this out the press or social media.

We are intending to simply offer the tournament as usual on this new date of 10/18.  If you need to make changes to your golf times (am or pm) or tent placement (sponsors), please contact Shawna at Shawna.Lepard@blackrivertech.edu or (870) 248-4026.

We SINCERELY appreciate your support as we make this challenging adjustment.  We hope that October 18 provides enough time for you to make arrangements to participate.  Your support this year and in the past means a lot to the BRTC Foundation, BRTC, and the BRTC Office of Institutional Advancement, so please know we do not take rescheduling lightly!

Thank you for your amazing support and we look forward to seeing you on the 18th!

As part of its Strengthening Institutions Grant activities, ӣƵ (BRTC) presented NEA Regional Intermodal Authority a check for $12,000.  The funds are to defray expenses that NEA Regional Intermodal Authority will incur during its work in helping guide BRTC in conducting a needs assessment, identifying the Durable Skills workforce employers statewide seek, and assisting in curriculum development and employability assessments.

Accepting the check on behalf of NEA Regional Intermodal Authority were Executive Director Graycen Bigger and Board Chair Scott Trammel.

In 2023, BRTC was awarded roughly $1.8 million through the U. S. Department of Education under the Strengthening Institutions Grant program.  The grant spans five years and will fund a project entitled, “Building the Workforce: Implementing a Career Services Program and Durable Skills Curriculum.” Through this project, BRTC will establish a comprehensive Career Services program and establish a Durable Skills Advisory Committee composed of local, regional, and state workforce experts.  This Committee will assist in the identification of durable skills (AKA soft skills or employability skills) that are most needed in Arkansas’ workforce. BRTC’s faculty and staff will then focus on developing durable skills curricula that will be integrated into BRTC’s courses and programs.
